Wild Communion! Gatherings in Nature

Awen Oaks 2620 Sharpes Hill Rd, Gaston

Each month on the third Sunday at 6pm, we gather out in nature on blankets, benches and chairs to commune with the mystical healing gifts of nature as our Hearthkeeper, Mela Borawski, inspires us with a message while we picnic together. We call this our Wild Communion and you are invited to join us each month! Bring chairs or blankets, and a picnic supper for your family, and set up under the trees near Aunty Oak this summer. During the summer, these gatherings will NOT include a bonfire (for all those who are bothered by the smoke!!). #picnichomily#wildcommunion **Today's Wild Communion will be followed by our FULL MOON RITUAL at 8pm if anyone wants to stay for that!**

Fundraiser! Learn to build your own Cob Oven!

Awen Oaks 2620 Sharpes Hill Rd, Gaston

Join GSF Saturday, June 1st for a Cob (Earthen) Oven Build at Awen Oaks. Cob is a mixture of sand, clay and straw to make a structure- this time in particular, an oven! You will learn many aspects and concepts from thermal mass, natural insulation, cob mixing, and more. Not to mention the amount of community building you will experience! Anyone who participates will be invited back to a pizza party compliments of the oven over the summer. Family Friendly, all ages.9am-6pm Join for the whole day, or any section(s) you're interested in. 9am: Meet and Greet10am: Make Cob!11:30am: Sand Mold1:00pm Lunch (pizza provided with ticket purchase)2:00pm: Cob Layer3:30pm: Insulation Layer4:30pm: Plaster Layer& Decorate6pm: Cleanup and Goodbyes Sliding Scale $50-$200 per family. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Greenwild Spiritual Fellowship (GSF).
