Summer Solstice Witch Camp 2025

Join us for an immersive experience in nature communion, spellcraft & ritual as we come together as a magickal camping village on the Waccamaw River in Longs, SC (near North Myrtle Beach) for the weekend! This is a (SEMI) PRIMITIVE camping experience for adults (teen children allowed with a parent in attendance). PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!! SPACE IS LIMITED Our weekend will include educational & hands-on workshops, spellcrafting, divination sharing and engaging in community ritual together at the amazing River Island Adventures in Longs, SC along the Waccamaw River.

Our theme for our Summer Solstice Adventure Witch Camp is all about WATER, EARTH & SUNSHINE. We will begin each morning with sun salutations & meditation on the banks of the river. We will play, bond, commune and create together all weekend! This is a beautiful opportunity for connecting with the land, river and plants, and be offered many different workshops from attendees! There will, as always, be a “New Witch Basics” class on Friday with Mela. New witches or those who want a refresher will learn some basics on protection, ethics, altars and magickal tools to give you a foundation for the remaining time together. Watch our discussion area for details on our crafts, classes & rituals! There are also opportunities for kayaking and other activities at the camping space.

LOCATION: River Island Adventures in Longs, SC (near N. Myrtle Beach about 2.5 hours from the Columbia area) – Address given once you register. (SEMI) PRIMITIVE camping, you will need to bring everything you need. THERE IS NO ELECTRICITY AT THE CAMPSITE. THE OUTPOST has hot showers, restrooms, and kitchen amenities such as a k-cup coffee maker, ice machine, water dispenser, microwave, (shared) refrigerator and free wi-fi as well as a large firepit area. [[ There are glamping tents, and other campsites you can rent if you wish – you must contact River Island Adventures yourself to rent spaces outside of our group space. Talk to Mela if you are doing this so you can get a reduced rate if you’re sleeping outside of our group space.]]

COST $45 per personAdd A Friend/Family for $35 to camp in your tent with you! You must be staying in the same tent for the discount and you must register for both (or more) of you AT THE SAME TIME. (Payment plan available, but a nonrefundable $20 PER PERSON must be paid up front. Your space is not reserved until you pay the $20 deposit.)

•If you decide not to attend before Sat, May 3, you will be refunded everything except your $20 deposit per person. After May 3, if you decide not to attend, you may TRANSFER to another attendee, but all money paid is nonrefundable.
•If circumstances beyond our control cause this retreat to be cancelled, you will receive a refund of everything you have paid except for a $20 deposit per person, In this circumstance, your nonrefundable deposit can be used by you or a person of your choice in a future retreat, class or workshop by 3 Rays of Light.
•Adults and teens are welcome, but teens may only attend if an adult family member attends with them.
•Nursing infants are always welcome to attend free of charge.

OUR LOCATION
River Island Adventures is located in Longs, SC near N. Myrtle Beach on the Waccamaw River. We will be sharing space with other campers and adventurers, so we will need to be respectful and honor the campground rules (quiet time is 11PM-7AM) Our Campsites
We are renting 3 neighboring campsites, that can hold 10 people each. There is no electricity at the campsite. Primitive camping. Bring what you need. There are picnic tables, and specified fire pits for cooking.

The Outpost
Within walking distance is the one acre Outpost which is where we park our vehicles. There is a large communal fire pit, hammocks and swings, slack line, giant yhard games, 7 foot propane gas grill, bathhouse with 4 restrooms and 4 hot showers, and free WIFI access. It is also where you would book any extra adventures such as renting a kayak, etc. There is also a outdoor kitchen area we are able to use that has a shared refrigerator, microwave, k-cup coffee maker, ice machine, and water dispenser. THIS IS WHY WE ARE SAYING SEMI PRIMITIVE – this place has amazing camping amenities within walking distance! Other Things to Do
We are looking into taking a kayak trip together which will be an additional cost (unsure yet as to how much) but we’ll give that option to everyone when we get more information. Bring anything you will need to camp including tent/s, bedrolls/sleeping bags, flashlight, tarps in case of rain, camp chairs, etc. DOES NOT INCLUDE YOUR MEALS AND SNACKS (EXCEPT FRIDAY DINNER)
Bring food that can be cooked on the campfires, or if you wish to walk to the kitchen, you can use their grill or microwave. There are stores nearby in N. Myrtle Beach (7 miles away) so if you need something you can drive to a store. LIMITED SPACE. WE ARE CREATING INTENTIONAL SPACE TOGETHER. Whether you are a seeker, a new witch, or a seasoned witch, come together with like-minded folks for a weekend together. Space for camping is limited, so be sure to register if you’re interested. CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Please contact Mela at [email protected] or message her if you are interested in volunteering at the witch camp. General helpers to help folks set up camp are needed, as well as anyone who might want to teach a workshop, lead a ritual, meditation, nature walk, etc. There is no discount involved in being a general helper, but you are invited (and encouraged) to come a day early (Thursday, June 19) at no charge. WITCH CAMP STAFF NEEDED
There are a few specific volunteer positions available that come with discounts: • FIRE WITCH – In charge of lighting a main cooking campfire in the morning, and assisting with fires as needed for cooking through the day. Also in charge of our communal fire at night. Please be experienced in making outdoor fires!!
Attend for $30 • HEARTH WITCH – In charge of our community dinner on Friday night, as well as assisting through the weekend with hospitality issues such as hot water for tea/coffee in the morning/helping folks who are new to camp cooking. Please be experienced in cooking over a campfire!!
Attend at No Cost OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION
Food Allergies or Sensitivities: Please let us know when you register if you have allergies, sensitivities or special requests such as gluten-free or vegetarian so we can provide for the community meal on Friday night. Ritual attire, witchy attire, etc is welcome and encouraged! Be sure to check weather, and bring your swimsuits, towels, etc as we are going to be by the river. Prepare for rain, just in case. Bring any divination tools, journal & pen, altar items you wish to put on our altar, or anything else that connects you spiritually! Bathrooms: There are bathrooms AND hot showers! Unplug From Technology: We ask that you honor the sacred space we are creating here by not bringing laptops and such with you. Cell phones are fine, but as this is an “unplugged” retreat, we’d rather you not be focusing your energy and attention on things you find online on your phone, so please consider tucking them away just for emergencies or using them away from other retreatants. Please do not take photos or videos of fellow attendees unless you have their permission.
